Location

Urbana Theological Seminary's Library is located on the Third floor of University Baptist Church, 314 E. Daniel, Champaign, IL 61820. The phone number is 217-365-9005. There is some metered parking on fourth street.

Checking Out and Returning Materials

Seminary students may check out resources directly from the Librarian, the Dean, a trained student worker, or authorized Library volunteer, depending on who is present. When the Library is open but no one is available, materials may still be checked out materials by writing down your name and the five-digit number on the bar code sticker at the top right hand side of the back cover of the book. If the official "self-checkout sheet" on which this should be done is not available, then please put a note in the dean's mailbox. Whoever is present should be able to help with this. Community members are welcome to come and use the library collection, but do need to be aware that the first time they check out items it will take a little time to enter them into the computer system.

Most materials are checked out for three weeks and may be renewed for an additional three week period provided there are no requests for the book. Commentaries and audio-visual items may be checked out for one week with one renewal. If the due date falls on a holiday, materials are due the next day the library is open. Materials do not need to be brought back to the library to be renewed. Items may renewed online using a Populi account or by contacting the library through phone or e-mail.

To return materials, place books in the box labeled "returns."

Materials marked “REF” may not be removed from the library without special arrangement. All class reserve items are considered reference materials and may not be removed from the library.

Donations

Urbana Theological Seminary's Library welcomes donations. All materials are accepted; materials that we cannot use for whatever reason will be put into the seminary booksale. Those interested in making a donation to the Library are welcome to contact the Dean at 217-365-9005.

Persons with Disabilities

Urbana Theological Seminary's Library is currently housed at a third floor location. Access to this floor is only available via stairs. Arrangements can be made for materials to be brought to a first floor study area for individuals unable to reach the Library's current location. Please email Urbana Seminary's Librarian or call to make these arrangements at 217-365-9005.
